| Construction is done on our remodel. We need help with cleanup and organization of the newly remodeled space. We are looking for volunteers to help this Saturday. We will be working from 11:00 AM to at least 1:00 PM. |
| We currently have the first annual Al Sarvi and David Bushard Remembrance Fund raiser happening, and one generous donor has offered to match the first $1,000.00 that comes in. |
| There will not be a Second Sunday show this month. |
| The Minnesota Postal History Society has changed their meeting date this month and they will be meeting on Thursday May 23rd this month due to a scheduling conflict at the library. |
| We have added the Lyon County Stamp Club to our list of events. They meet on the second Monday each month. I don't know much more than that. |
| We will not have a presentation this month as the fourth Saturday is on Memorial weekend. We will have a fantastic presentation for June. |
| My cover this week was sent from Clear Water, Minnesota in January of 1867. Clear Water is in Wright County. The post office operated under the name of Clear Water from 1856 to 1895 when the name was changed to Clearwater. It operated for ten years under that name when they changed the name back to Clear Water. The name changed back again to Clearwater in 1922 and the post office continues to operate under that name. The cover was sent to Helena Montana. Montana had just become a territory three years prior and it was twenty-two years before statehood. The stamp is #65. The topic of conversation at the Twin City Philatelic Society today was on how virtually every cover can appeal to multiple collectors for a variety of reasons. This cover is no exception. If you collect from the 19th Century, Minnesota, Montana, DPO's, Territorials, etc. Covers, this will be at home in your collection. |

| Hi Everyone, |
| I have recently started working on a big bag of Australian stamps, getting them ready for the Red Boxes. This was the first time that I have worked on the Red Box stamps and it gave me a new appreciation for the amount of work involved in sorting and preparing the stamps for the Red Boxes and the amount of time that our volunteers put into this process so that you can find the stamps that you need to fill the holes in your collection. |

| Above is a picture of John working on one of the Red Boxes. I want to take this opportunity to thank John and the rest of our volunteers who keep the Red Boxes filled. The donations that you give for the stamps from the Red Boxes make up a large part of the money that keeps the lights on in the library. So, thank you very much everyone. |
