| We currently have the first annual Al Sarvi and David Bushard Remembrance Fund raiser happening, and one generous donor has offered to match the first $1,000.00 that comes in. |
| The Minnesota Postal History Society has changed their meeting date this month and they will be meeting on Thursday May 23rd this month due to a scheduling conflict at the library. |
| My cover this week is a registered cover sent from New York to Istanbul, Turkey. It was sent from the Association For Stamp Exhibitions. They were on Nassau Street in New York City. There have been over 130 stamp dealers on Nassau Street. During the height of popularity of stamp collecting it must have been the place to be. The tied label on the back of the cover is for the Third International Philatelic Exhibition in New York in 1936, known as TIPEX. The previous two were in 1913 and in 1926. New York did not host another International Exhibition until 1956. The rate was twenty-five cents. |
