| The Second Sunday Show is on the third Sunday this month due to Mother's Day and the fishing opener. |
| I have been told that the postcard club will not have their regular meeting this month. Instead, they are having a postcard show at the VFW in Hopkins. The changes have been made to the schedule. Some clubs are very good at informing me of their schedule. For the others I have to go by the regularity of their schedule. I usually only hear from someone in the postcard club when a change has been made and I am not aware of the changes. Often times the information comes in too late. This time I got the information prior to the show. |

| Last weeks insured mail postcard got a bit of attention, but no one had a good theory as to the purpose of it or it's rates. One of you went to great levels of investigation even calling the hospital to see if they could track down the people involved. He did not have any luck, but it is 41 years old. I hope he had fun searching. I always do, even when the search produces nothing. |
| My cover this week is a postcard of gentlemen fishing in the early 20th century. I enjoyed this as they are fishing with a rowboat using cane poles and they are wearing suits and bowties. The dock they are standing on looks to me like it could collapse at any minute. This was sent from Comstock, Wisconsin. I doubt anyone at Wisconsin's opener last week had any of this in common with the postcard. Today we have 300+ horsepower fishing boats and locators that can practically tell you the sex of the fish and when it last ate. It kind of makes me long for simpler times and appreciate my grandkids fishing off the dock without all the modern necessities. |
