| The program for September will be on September 27th. The topic is " Appreciating Cultural History: Integrating Paper Ephemera Into a Stamp Collection", by Dr. Gene Young. I have attended many of Gene's presentations over the years and they way he incorporates ephemera and misc. into his philatelic programs is always entertaining with fascinating stories. You will be entertained and I guarantee you will learn something. |
| The SCC and GPS will have a joint meeting this month on September 11th at 7:00 PM at the Danish American Center. Members from both clubs attended GASS last month and they will share their stories from the event. |
| We received four large boxes/totes of books last week. They will be cataloged and added to our inventory soon. Many of these books are titles that we did not currently have and most of these are out of print. There are two that I have been looking for several years. This is a reminder that if you have not been to the library recently, we are always expanding and improving. Please visit and support our library. |

| My covers this month are both special delivery covers with a block of six imperforated #611 Harding stamps. They both have siderographers initials on them. The one with J.H.S. is for John H. Silbert Jr. The one with J.C.F. initials is for James C. Filgate. Siderographers were employees of the BEP, (Bureau of Printing and Engraving). Their job was to create engraved printing plates from a transfer roll. |

| To sign up for the Toozday Nooze go to our website at NORPS.org, there you will find a link for the Toozday Nooze and on the event page where you can sign up to receive the Nooze every week and keep up on events and programs at the library as well as happenings with the local stamp clubs and shows. I have been told this does not work with some phones, but should be accessible from your computer. You do not need to be a member of the library to receive this, but I encourage you to do so. We are run and organized 100% by volunteers and your donations keep the doors open and the lights on. |
